Itoday Masterclasses 2021 is a Hybrid event, both in-person at Swiss Tech Convention Center in Switzerland, and online.  On this page, you will find answers to frequently asked questions. If you are looking for an answer that does not appear, don't hesitate to write us: info@itoday.ch

Covid measures

We take the situation very seriously, and we won’t compromise on safety.
Itoday Masterclasses are “Covid FREE“. This means that a valid QR certificate (covid pass) will be required to enter the Swiss Tech Convention center. Once inside the building, disinfection stations are available everywhere.

– Once inside the building, you won’t need to wear masks anymore
– You will be able to eat/drink standing (without needing to scan QR codes each time you change your seat) which is better for meeting new people and networking

A valid certificate can be obtained either by being vaccinated or by making a test.

Certificate of vaccination
  • two-dose vaccination (Comirnaty®, COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm BIBP, Sinovac, Covishield™): on the day of administration of the second dose;
  • for single-dose vaccination (Janssen): on the 22nd day after administration of the dose.
  • for individuals with prior confirmed Sars-CoV-2 infection:
    • on the day of administration of the single dose of a two-dose vaccination (Comirnaty®, COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm BIBP, Sinovac, Covishield™)
    • on the 22nd day after administration of a single-dose vaccination (Janssen).
Test
  • PCR test valid 72 hours
  • Rapid antigen test valid 48 hours

There is a testing site on the campus of EPFL (you need to book an appointment). Rapid antigen tests are free in Switzerland.

Europeans certificates are of course valid in Switzerland.

Your certificate whether in paper or digital format must have a valid QR code. At the door, we will also ask you to show your ID.

Here is a map will all the testing sites available in the area: https://www.geo.vd.ch

Speakers and content

Itoday Masterclasses are exceptional. It is the first in-person event for Jake Knapp, Alex Osterwalder, and Yves Pigneur since the Covid crisis.

The Swiss Tech Convention center has been awarded the best swiss congress center 2021.
The Covid crisis is not over yet, but we have come to a time when we can learn to live with it. It is now more important than ever to create real links and personal connections. This is why the in-person aspect of this event matters so much.

Moreover, the hybrid aspect will feel special. As participants online will be able to participate actively in the workshops. We will also capture what is happening at The Swiss Tech Center live, with several cameras. We guarantee that this won’t feel like your regular boring webinar.

This is a small-scale event, to ensure the best covid safety and optimal networking conditions.
there will be about 80 participants per day.

A lot of things depend on you, your experience, and your personal choices, but we know for sure that you will need to meet the right people if you want to make it in innovation.

Itoday Masterclasses is a bridge between Switzerland and Silicon Valley. The people you will meet there are passionate about products, technology, and new ways of working. Our speakers are world-class and so are our attendees. Itoday Masterclasses will bring you not only new knowledge but also deep connexions with like-minded people.

Meet people from Itoday’s Community

Such a Masterclass in a small setting is all about personal connexions. Alex Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur will be physically present at the Swiss Tech Convention Center. If travel conditions USA-Switzerland allow at this time, Jake Knapp will also be present in person in Switzerland.

Food

There will be a finger-food buffet for the two days of the event. We are making sure that there will be vegan food.

Online experience

If you participate online, you will be attending on Zoom and get a high-quality live stream of what’s happening LIVE at the EPFL SwissTech Center. You will also be able to participate, in small groups, in all the exercises using Miro, a digital whiteboard.

You will be able to ask your questions to Jake Knapp, Alex Osterwalder, or Yves Pigneur.

Please turn on your camera and smile! During the workshop, your face will be displayed on the giant screens at the Swiss Tech center. We are also working on a way to let you network with in-person participants.

No, we will use simple tools: Zoom and Miro which are accessible to anyone

You will need a computer with a camera, a headset with a microphone, and the browser Google Chrome. We will work with two tools: Zoom for conversations and Miro as a digital whiteboard

In this case, we recommend you attend a webinar or watch videos online. Itoday Masterclasses are all about meeting new people and live active participation.

We will send you all the workshop links at least one day before the event. Please make sure that we have your personal email. Don’t hesitate to write us at info@itoday.ch

We will interact a lot on Slack before and during the event. If you are a participant, please write us at info@itoday.ch and we will send you a personal invitation to our Slack channel.

You will need to have a general understanding of English of course, but keep in mind that most of us are not mother-tongue. Many participants will also be french or german speakers. Come as you are really!
